Development Milestones

So I'm looking up the milestone chart to see if Sunny's hit the marks. He's doing so well! He's been hitting the "advanced skills" column with the except of rolling over. we need to do more tummy time with him...
He's be saying "dada" for a couple weeks now, and he's been able to sit without support for may be 2-3 seconds.  This week he started to bring the bottle toward his mouth. He was doing that with his toys and towels a couple weeks ago. He's also been playing with his hands and he loves the clicking sound I make with my tongue :)

Updates on teething problem

Sunny is still refusing to nurse except when he's sleeping at night. He will kind of take the bottle but only a little. He wants to chew on my hand though. Wish I know what to do...  I'm going to try putting this teether in the refrigerator and then give it to him cold so it'll help numb his gums a little and see.
Oh one cool thing he's able to do now... He can grab the bottle with his hand and bring it to his mouth!! yay! Go Sunny!

Ugh, the pain of teething

I think Sunny started teething.  He's been super fussy these few days, refusing to nurse. He would wake up in the middle of the night crying. I gave him some teething toys to try, and he kept gnawing at them. I wish he would start nursing. I read that walking around while nursing helps, so now my neck, shoulders, and arms are so tired.  My poor baby.

Picture with Santa!

I took Sunny to the mall to take pic with Santa. Boy it's expensive!!! $40 for 30 seconds with Santa, and 4~5 small sheets of print outs. Geez! But lucky for Sunny, he's the only child right now so we spend $$ on him! I also got to take great pics around the area single-handedly, one hand holding on Sunny since he can't sit yet, one hand holding the camera. I even sat him on the stroller handle so that I can take a picture above ground with the Christmas trees as background. Turned out great though!

Genius Daddy

Allen's really impressed me with his techniques when it comes to baby caring...
look at this picture:

Well, I've been the one waking up in the middle of the night to change baby since he was born. One night I was just so exhausted so I woke Daddy up to change his diapers.... This is how I found the baby in the morning... Note where Sunny's left hand is... I guess Allen didn't open his eyes when he changed baby...

And one time after giving Sunny a bath, I went into the shower while Daddy dressed him. When I got out, I picked up baby, and felt his back all wet with poop! Guess what? Daddy forgot to put diapers on him.

But Daddy is also very good at calming a fussy baby. His first method is growling at a crying Sunny. It works very well. Just shout at his face and he stops crying... Another way he did is to just push his lips shut and he stopped crying... weird eh? But it only works with Daddy... unfortunately.

Not yet 3 months old already watching
TV with daddy... yes he's actually
watching TV
a feeble attempt to smile

I carried him for 8 months in my stomach
and now i have to carry him outside
took fussy Sunny out for a walk

came home he was asleep until I put him
down *doh*

Geez, where did all the time go?

Ugh, been so busy with school and work! Finally today off and I've been running errands all day with Sunny.  I brought a bottle with me and fed him during lunch, so I didn't pump until 5pm... from 8 am to 5 pm.. I leaked everywhere, not good.

2 months and a week old. Last visit to the doc put him at 11 lbs 6 oz, and 23.25 inches. Compared to other babies his age, he's 53% in height, which is awesome, but 20~30% in weight and head circumference. So he's just super tall :). Hope he'll catch up with weight and head size soon!

So Sunny's been having reflux, the doc increased Zantec and it's helped A LOT! He's not as fussy as before. But he's also super constipated. Went 4 days w/o poo. Doc told us to use glycerin suppository... oh boy. within 2 mins he exploded w/ poo and it was SOOOOOO STINKY! It made my eyes water. Immediately jumped in the shower to wash him off.  We doing prune juice every day now. :)

He also started sprouting rashes on his face and body. Doc said it's eczema. Poor Sunny.

Since I started working week after labor day, Sunny's been going to an in home day care. It's great because they  have webcam so I can watch Sunny on my iphone throughout the day. She's great too. They listen to music and watch veggie tales!

This morning I brought Sunny to his first class!!! Kindermusik! We sang and danced and did a bunch of other smart stuff! Other babies are over 6 months old. Sunny is the littlest, but he had fun! kind of. slept through the first half of the class but I think the music and the sounds really stimulates him nonetheless. the other babies all look very smart. Early start makes him smart!! yay!

what a smile!

I've been trying to get a pic of this face
for so long, finally got one! haha

oh! what's going on?

Ew, yucky medicine from the nurse!

Twins!! I know, right?

HAHA he smiled for daddy!

Can't really see it but his face is really
red!

Reflux... :(

Baby Sunny has been having acid reflux... he doesn't just throw up... his vomit projects straight out, like all the milk he just drank. Two nights ago, I was holding him downstairs after a nice bath, and the 4 ounces of milk just gushed out from his mouth. I was trying to catch it to not get it on the floor while rushing upstairs to the bathroom to wash again... poor baby.
Doc prescribed Zantec. Seems to stopped the crying, but still threw up twice today... hope it'll stop soon.
Also switched to Dr. Brown's bottles. Works very very well at reducing gas! I got the wide neck ones, they're on sale at Amazon! Wide necks are easier to wash.
The doc also gave us some other types of formula as samples (similac soy and sensitive), but we looked at the ingredients, the first one is corn syrup... sigh, the greatness of the American Food Industry. We're going to try to switch to Baby's Only Organic from Wholefoods.

Oh and last thing, all the mamas out there, sign up for Amazon Mom for free, no obligations, and you get free 2 day shipping, plus 30% off diapers and wipes!! What a great deal! My Dr. Brown bottles came in within a day!!
