Reflux... :(

Baby Sunny has been having acid reflux... he doesn't just throw up... his vomit projects straight out, like all the milk he just drank. Two nights ago, I was holding him downstairs after a nice bath, and the 4 ounces of milk just gushed out from his mouth. I was trying to catch it to not get it on the floor while rushing upstairs to the bathroom to wash again... poor baby.
Doc prescribed Zantec. Seems to stopped the crying, but still threw up twice today... hope it'll stop soon.
Also switched to Dr. Brown's bottles. Works very very well at reducing gas! I got the wide neck ones, they're on sale at Amazon! Wide necks are easier to wash.

The doc also gave us some other types of formula as samples (similac soy and sensitive), but we looked at the ingredients, the first one is corn syrup... sigh, the greatness of the American Food Industry. We're going to try to switch to Baby's Only Organic from Wholefoods.

New Diapers

I got these new diapers yesterday... LOVE them! They are adjustable from 8 lbs to 36 lbs, these are the only diapers I'll need from birth to potty train! They are super soft, super absorbent, and the layer that's touching the butt is super dry! So I bought 24 diapers, enough to last probably 2~3 days before I have to do laundry, and they cost $184 (though I found them cheaper somewhere else). That's the cost of only 2 months of disposable diapers! I didn't like the disposables (pampers) because they leave a residue on Sunny's butt, and it's so hard to clean off.  Oh I also use cloth wipes with water to clean his butt too. Talk about save money! and no chemicals either! Except when we go out, it's easier to throw away.

First day back at work

Today is the first day I went back to work and left baby Sunny with daddy... I called home a few times to check on the boys, and every time I hear Sunny crying in the background... I wonder why. Last night I had daddy practice taking care of Sunny by waking up to feed at 6am. I had gotten up to feed at 3am, and got done around 4, went to sleep at 4:30. Sunny started crying at 6am, and Allen was like "Didn't you just finished feeding him? Why is he crying?" I was like "uhm, it's 6am and he's ready for the next feeding..." Allen was like "whoa, time goes by so fast!" I was thinking yea, now you know why I'm so busy every day, and you said I'm so slow and wasted all my time...

I realized that daddies aren't born with the instinct on how to take care of babies. Last night, Allen was like, taking care of baby is so easy, I can do it. Then, he changed his diapers, he was like how do I change him? I had to show him how to use the waterproof pad, then when he took the diaper off and was getting the other diaper when Sunny pee'd all over himself! Then Allen was like uh-oh, where's his clothes? How do I wipe him? He panic'd. I just sat back and watched him to see if he could do it, but then I couldn't, so I intervened. Long story short, he was just so lost.... Poor daddy.

9 LBS!!!

Hey Sunny's 9 lbs today! Today is the day he was supposed to be born. He also got his 2nd Hepatitis B vaccine today.

 

oh and the rocker/glider we have is AWESOME! Sunny was fussy today after the vaccine.  I changed him, fed him, burped him and he still kept fussing. So I sat on the glider with him and he fell asleep within a minute and he slept for 4 hours.
