Fever!

Sunny got sick after visiting the pediatrician on Friday... Went in for a 6 month check up and flu shot.  The good news is that he's 50 percentile in weight (17.40 lbs) and 75 percentile in height (27.25 inches).
He got me sick and then got daddy sick. So we are stuck at home..
He wakes up crying all night... fever 100.5. I had to keep waking up and use the suction to clear his nose while he screams... not fun.
And then he got dehydrated and kept throwing up, can't keep pedialyte down. my poor baby!!

Where's Sunny's head? Poing!

Sunny got kicked out of school

Yea, and he's only 5 months old...
The daycare he goes to doesn't want to keep him anymore because they said he cries too much. Of course he'll cry if you keep him on the swing all day long. Sunny almost never cries when he's with us nowadays. He's one of the few babies I've seen who wakes up smiling! I'm glad I get to keep him now. But that means I had to quit my job and buy insurance.

So I've already planned out our activities once I leave my job.

Monday - Richardson library
Tuesday - Plano library then swimming
Wednesday - Plano library
Thursday - Plano library then swimming
Friday - Plano library then swimming

The library programs are all free, reading, singing, rhymes, music, etc. The gym is free for Sunny and $195/year for me. They've got a nice baby pool area. I even ordered swim diapers for Sunny.

Hm.. what should I do for Monday and Wednesday afternoon?? May be go to senior center to volunteer... I want Sunny to be exposed to a lot of people so he won't have stranger anxiety.

And weekends will be family time... but what to do???

happy baby!

I started feeding Sunny some rice cereal.  He kinda didn't like it... Then he learned to spit it out. It's so funny. He just kept blowing raspberries to spit out the food. Smart boy.
started on rice cereal...

Breast Milk = Liquid Magic

Breast milk is so awesome.
Sunny started having diarrhea recently due to teething, and the diarrhea caused diaper rash. After a weekend in disposables (thanks to daddy and grandma), his diaper rash broke out really bad!  It was all red and swollen and the skin broke. My poor baby. And I didn't have any diaper rash cream. I read online that breast milk can replace diaper rash cream so I tried that. Lo and behold. After two applications of breast milk on affected areas and letting it dry before putting new diaper on got rid of the rash completely! I mean his butt doesn't even have the slightest hint of pink! Amazing stuff.

Then I tried drinking it because I had a sore throat... ..... .....

I just couldn't drink my own body fluid...

I gotta try some of the other ones, especially mosquito bites!

Here's from the website:
Diaper rash
Breastmilk can heal a diaper rash as well as any rash cream on the market. Even better, there is no risk of allergic reaction to make the rash worse. Simply rub in a few drops of breastmilk on the affected area as often as needed, and allow to air-dry before putting a diaper back on.
Dry, cracked nipples
Nursing mothers often experience dry, cracked nipples, especially in the first few weeks of nursing. Lanolin is often recommended in this instance, but breastmilk works better. To heal and soothe, simply rub a drop or two of breastmilk into the nipple immediately after nursing and allow to air-dry.
Sinus, ear, and eye infections
If you or your child has a sinus, ear, or eye infection, a few drops of breastmilk will work wonders in clearing it up. Breastmilk has natural antibodies which kill infection without the harmful side effects of synthetic antibiotics, and can be administered as often as necessary without risk of overdose.
Makeup removal
Breastmilk can be used in place of cold cream to remove makeup and soften skin. Simply rub onto skin and rinse clean.
Eczema and acne
Simply rub a few drops of breastmilk into the affected area and allow to air-dry. Repeat as often as necessary to soothe and heal. Breastmilk contains natural moisturizers that will keep skin supple, which speeds the healing process.
Mosquito bites, cuts, and scrapes
Breastmilk can help relieve the itch and heal bites faster and more naturally than commercial bite remedies. A few drops of breastmilk applied to a cut or scrape before bandaging can prevent infection and speed the healing process.
Sore throat
Breastmilk is wonderful for easing the pain of a sore throat. Babies can get relief every time they nurse, but for older children and adults, a cup of expressed breastmilk can have the same effect.
Chemo patients
Cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment often have severe nausea after treatment. These patients can use breastmilk to calm their stomachs, help with digestion, and strengthen their weakened immune systems.
Burn patients
Burn victims can use breastmilk to help heal and protect their skin. The fat in breastmilk is an excellent skin soother and softener, and the antibodies help prevent infection.
Organ transplant patients
Patients who receive donor organs often use breastmilk to help fight infection after surgery. Organ donors can also benefit from the immunity-boosting properties of breastmilk while healing from their surgery.
These are only a few of the miraculous healing benefits of breastmilk. Who knew that our bodies could produce a substance with so much power? Breastmilk truly is liquid magic.
